Determination of representative volume element size for a magnetorheological elastomer

Smart composite materials have been an active field of research in the last few decades. Magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) are examples such smart composites and they show a coupling between magnetism elasticity. MREs heterogeneous consist magnetic particles silicone-based elastomer. To describe predict behaviour macroscopic continuum accurately, microstructural information needs to be taken into account analysis materials. Therefore, combined approach called multi-scale is used consider various scales observation simultaneously. The concept Representative Volume Element (RVE) typically employed by approaches micro scale, thus size RVE becomes model parameter techniques. This has motivated determination derivation magnetoelastic constitutive relations terms sizes our paper. finite element method statistical based on coefficient variation determine MREs. results that it possible lower bound for MRE.
